FFSC on STL TV, Child Support Awareness Month (August)

In August, FFSC continued its vital work in the community by raising awareness about Child Support Awareness Month on STL TV (also airing on KDNL). CEO Cheri Tillis, alongside Director of Employment Jarrett Kendall and FFSC Staff Attorney Jessica Igielnik, joined the conversation to shed light on the complexities of the child support system and the crucial role FFSC plays in helping parents navigate it.

Tillis emphasized FFSC’s commitment to empowering both parents to understand their rights and responsibilities regarding child support. She highlighted the organization’s comprehensive approach, which extends beyond just financial obligations to include employment services and legal guidance.

Kendall spoke about how FFSC’s Employment Development & Mentoring Program (EDMP) directly supports parents in securing stable jobs, which is fundamental to meeting their child support obligations and achieving economic self-sufficiency. He shared success stories of parents who, with FFSC’s assistance, have gained meaningful employment and are now better equipped to provide for their children.

Igielnik provided valuable insights into the legal aspects of child support, explaining common challenges parents face and how FFSC’s legal services offer crucial support in navigating court processes and understanding legal requirements. She underscored the importance of accessible legal assistance for families going through child support matters.

The segment served as a powerful reminder of the resources available at Fathers & Families Support Center for parents in the St. Louis area. Watch HERE!
