Congratulations to our amazing Reginald Slaughter, FFSC's Community Outreach Coordinator, who’ll be recognized for his outstanding work in keeping the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive at a civic ceremony downtown St. Louis on Monday, Jan 20, 2025 at 9:30 AM at City Hall (1200 Market St.). Reginald will be recognized for his dedication to Dr. King's vision of social justice alongside other inspiring individuals. Hosted by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee of St. Louis, this special community event will feature Mayor Tishaura Jones and prominent community leaders, with a focus on reflecting on the ongoing fight against poverty, racism, and violence. This milestone award recognizes an exceptional dedication to uplifting others, addressing community needs, and inspiring positive change.
The commemorative breakfast will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., at the Marriott St. Louis Airport (10700 Pear Tree Ln, St. Louis, MO 63134). This year’s theme, Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365, provides a meaningful framework for honoring leaders like you who embody Dr. King’s enduring legacy.

Congratulations to CEO, Cheri Tillis, who was selected as one of the top 100 women to receive the 2023 Black Girls Who Rock St. Louis Award and Golden Ticket! As a precursor to the special event, golden tickets were hand-delivered to awardees for the upcoming ceremony in December. Watch Cheri receive the Golden Ticket on video!

Black Girls Who Rock St. Louis Awards Celebration honors outstanding women in the St. Louis Metropolitan area who have made a significant contribution to her community or in her field of endeavor. One hundred trailblazing women will be selected to receive the 2023 Black Girls Who Rock Award.

The awards ceremony was held Sunday, December 10th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Plaza Motors Mercedes and hosted by The R. Whittington Foundation National Council of Negro Women Inc., St. Louis Section and Divine Daughters. This was the first event of its kind to be hosted in the St. Louis area. The grand celebration brought women from all walks of life together in the name of love, peace, and joy … just in time for the holidays.
