Trauma Specialist

Lisa N. Williams, MSW, is a dedicated therapist, trauma specialist, and child advocate with over 30 years of experience in social work and family support. She holds a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University.

Lisa’s career spans pivotal roles with the Missouri Division of Youth Services, Missouri Division of Family Services, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, where she served as an Advanced Child Protection Investigator, Quality Assurance Analyst, and Statewide Child Welfare Trainer. She has conducted high-profile investigations, developed and implemented training programs, and provided crisis intervention for families and youth in vulnerable situations.

Currently, Lisa serves as a Trauma Specialist and Therapist at Fathers & Families Support Center, where she provides individual and group therapy, trauma-informed care, and family healing support. Her work emphasizes responsible fatherhood, emotional resilience, and cultural competence.

Lisa is also the author of Good Touch Bad Touch: Understanding Our Bodies – A Journey of Safety and Respect, a trauma-informed children’s book teaching body boundaries and personal safety, and What Human Traffickers Don’t Want You to Know: A Teen’s Guide to Outsmarting  Predators, a bold guide that equips teens with real-world tools to recognize, resist, and report exploitation.

As the founder of Safety & Respect Publishing, Lisa creates culturally aware, trauma-informed resources for youth, families, and schools. Her mission is clear: to empower young people with the knowledge and tools to stay safe, break cycles of harm, and thrive with dignity and respect.
