How Your Donation Will Help our Families

Support a Father/Mother working on a GED

With a GED, our fathers and mothers can qualify for a higher-paying position or get into a college classroom since, having demonstrated the knowledge needed to compete with high school graduates. As a result, parents find more options for career and education advancement.

Support a Graduation Ceremony for Fathers/Mothers

Your Gift supports a graduation ceremony for participants of FFSC’s six-week Family Formation program. Graduation from the 6-week program is a major accomplishment for each Dad or Mom. For many, it is the first thing they’ve ever completed. Help FFSC provide a graduation ceremony for these dads and moms, acknowledging their commitment to becoming better parents for their children.

Support a Child in Family Bonding Activities

Your Gift supports Family Bonding activities, which encourage participants to invest intentional time with their children. These outings provide a safe space for FFSC parents to begin implementing the parenting and skills training FFSC teaches. The ultimate purpose of these activities are to show the parents in our program that they can effectively implement the practices they’ve learned, and that they already have all they need to play an active, engaged role in their children’s lives.

Support a Father or Mother with Employment Training

Your Gift supports the services and activities in FFSC’s Employment Development & Mentoring Program, which helps fathers and mothers find careers and full-time employment to support their families. This includes holistic and preventative services including job readiness and retention skills, therapeutic services/mental health support, financial management, and substance use education.

Support a Father or Mother with Responsible Parenthood training

Your Gift supports the services and activities in FFSC’s 6-week Family Formation program that transforms men and women into responsible parents for their children. This includes yearlong follow-up services to ensure our graduates stay on track with their goals.

The Halbert Sullivan Society

Our founder and longtime CEO, Halbert Sullivan, saw the need to teach men to be actively-involved fathers. He saw the considerable benefits that the children of those fathers would receive. He saw how those benefits could and would spill over into the community at large. But in addition to his ability to imagine, Halbert Sullivan was also a “doer.” He rolled up his sleeves, he got the job done. Members of the society named in his honor make it possible for the work of FFSC to be done and done correctly day in and day out.
